Frequently Asked Questions

ARKEL Cloud; is a collection of services and devices, developed by ARKEL, in order to bring together the Internet technologies and the Lift Industry.

ARKEL Cloud is not just another remote monitoring system, but it is envisioned to become a platform that will host, improve and facilitate many operations and workflows of lift companies.

The word Cloud means ‘Cloud’ in English. The term ‘Cloud Computing’ is a general name for programmes and services that can be shared over the Internet. ARKEL Cloud is a cloud technology because it can be accessed from anywhere in the world or from any device (PC, smartphone, tablet) without requiring the user to install any programme on their computer. At the same time, it is an ‘Internet of Things’ application as it is a system that connects lifts to the Internet, which we are not normally accustomed to being accessible over the Internet.

ARKEL Cloud the advantages that elevator companies using the system can benefit from can be seen under the following headings.

- Remote monitoring and fault detection:
ARKEL Cloud connected elevators can be monitored in real-time over the Internet. Screens designed for non-technical users display information such as the elevator's current floor, door status, and whether it is in service, using easily understandable icons. Additionally, in case of a malfunction, technical service teams can view the cause of the fault, access status screens (AREM screens), view configuration parameters, and access the elevator's schematics without having to visit the elevator.
- Fault or entrapment alarms:
In case of a fault or a passenger being trapped inside the cabin, relevant individuals are notified via SMS and/or email. Technical service personnel receiving the fault notification can click on the link in the message to get navigation directions to the faulty elevator from their current location using their smartphones.
- TS EN 81-28 Compliance:
ARKEL Cloud compliant device ArcLINE ensures voice communication required by the TS EN 81-28: Remote Alarm in Passenger and Goods Lifts standard over the Internet (Voice over IP) without requiring a separate phone line.
Elevator companies can establish their own call centers using ARKEL Cloud Help Center software, which will integrate with all ArcLINEs in the field.
- Technical service team tracking and guidance:
The service company administrators can monitor their technical service teams' real-time locations on a map using the ArcMOBİL application installed on their smartphones. In case of a malfunction, they can determine the nearest available team on the map and direct them to the fault with a single click. Technical service teams can click the link in the job order message on their phones to receive navigation directions to the relevant building.
- Periodic maintenance management/tracking:
Elevator periodic maintenance schedules can be planned in advance by assigning tasks to specific maintenance personnel on a calendar. Maintenance personnel can see which maintenance tasks they need to perform on a given day, get navigation directions, and record maintenance reports after completion.
- Elevator advertising revenue:
If LiftMediaPlus is used as the cabin display device in the elevator, you can add your elevators to "ARKEL Cloud Advertising Market" and offer them to advertisers. Elevators registered in the ARKEL Cloud Advertising Market are presented to advertisers along with their usage statistics from the past month, their locations on the map, daily advertising price set by you, and screen images.
Advertisers can rent ad spaces on LiftMediaPlus using ad credits purchased from Arkel. For the rented period, they can upload their media files (videos or images) via ARKEL Cloud for your approval. Approved ads are displayed for the rented duration, and the corresponding amount is transferred to your account by Arkel at the end of the month. This process is fully automated, requiring no action from you except for approving the ad content.
Note: To place ads in an elevator, an agreement must be made with the building management. Revenue reports from ad spaces can be detailed and tracked through the website.

- Remote monitoring and control / Building security:

- The status of each lift car at which stop, active records, the status of the doors, overload, photocell, etc. can be monitored instantly.

All elevators can be monitored from a single screen in places such as sites and shopping centres with many elevators. In case of malfunction or stranding, the relevant personnel can be notified instantly.

In addition, if desired, all movements of the lifts can be stored in the database, retrospective travel records and travel statistics can be obtained.

- Remotely update the car display:

Building managers can update the content such as video music on the LiftmediaPlus screens in their lifts or the notice board on the screen via the web browser on their own computers. For this purpose, it is sufficient to log in to the ARKEL Cloud system with the username and password provided by the lift company and upload the media or text files they have prepared themselves.

- Station access restrictions:

In some buildings (e.g. business centres), access to certain floors is restricted with a security card or security key (akbil). ARKEL Cloud system, with the ARCSecure security card (RFID) reader plug-in, offers the opportunity to instantly define the access of the desired security card to the desired floor(s).

There is no special software to access the ARKEL Cloud, no installation is required. Since all functions are designed to be web-based, you can access the ARKEL Cloud system from a compatible Internet browser (e.g. Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox) and use all its functions.

Yes. You can use ARKEL Cloud from any device (smartphone, tablet, desktop computer) with supported Internet browsers.

Unlike similar systems on the market, you do not need to make any special settings on the computer network in the building.

All ARKEL Cloud compatible devices have a serial number and this number is printed on the label on the device box. In order to register the device to the system and connect it to your own company, after plugging the cable of the device into any ethernet (RJ45) socket with Internet access, after logging into the system with your username and password, click on the ‘My Devices -> New device’ button and enter the serial number on the label of the device on the screen that will open.

After this process, your lift will be accessible from anywhere in the world by the users you authorise.

If you want to make a wireless connection, you will need to write the name and password of a WiFi point available in the area where the device is located to the SD card inside the device.

In order to use the ARKEL Cloud system, you need to purchase one of its compatible devices.

If your company will be using ARKEL Cloud for the first time, you will need to register your company and define an administrator user and password. To register your company for the first time, simply call ARKEL Technical Support Department. After confirming your company information (company name, address, company contact details) and the serial number on the label of your ARKEL Cloud compatible device, our colleague on the phone will send your username and password to your e-mail address.

This process is done once for each company. After the company registration is opened once, you will be able to register all other ARKEL Cloud compatible devices you will add to your company with the serial numbers on them. In addition, you will be able to easily create user accounts for other users in your company or for your customers and authorise them via ARKEL Cloud screens.

It is the device required to connect the lift control system to ARKEL Cloud. Currently, Arkel Arlift can only work with lifts with ARCODE, Arcube and ARL-700 control systems.

This device allows you to use remote monitoring, remote control, remote fault detection, fault/stay alarm functions.

The TS EN 81-28 standard requires that passengers who are trapped in the cabin for any reason can access the intervention centre via an in-cabin voice communication system. In conventional systems, this communication is usually done via normal voice (telephone) lines. The ArcLINE device, on the other hand, can provide voice communication more economically over the existing Internet line.

It is a module that enables the use of building and floor security functions and can read RFID security cards.
